Indonesia receiving more then 220,000 Hajj quota for 2024: Minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) – According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Indonesia will receive the same number of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia as it did this year—that is, 221,000 pilgrims—for the Hajj in 2024.

The 2024 Hajj quota has been communicated to a number of nations, including Indonesia, by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The quota for Indonesian pilgrims will be 221,000 in the next year, according to a statement released here on Monday by Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

He said that a letter from the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry that was received on Friday in Mecca contained the allotment of the 2024 Hajj quota.

This year, Indonesia received a quota of 221,000 pilgrims plus an additional 8,000 pilgrims.

Qoumas stated that information was also given by the Saudi authorities.

The September 16, 2023, preparation meeting will come first on the schedule, followed by the announcement of the Hajj quota for 2024.

The Saudi administration will publish airline contracts, reveal the names of businesses approved to take part in Hajj organisation, and open the e-Hajj system for pilgrims’ data input and account activation.

A Hajj and Umrah service expo and symposium is slated for January 8, 2024, while preparation meetings and arrangements for service packages are anticipated to be completed by November 4, 2023.

Contracts for accommodations and services for the Hajj are anticipated to be finished by February 24, 2024.

Hajj visas will be issued by Saudi Arabia starting on March 1 and will be available for purchase through the e-Hajj system until April 29.

On May 9, pilgrims are anticipated to begin arriving in Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj season.
